LEADING EDGE ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT
Leading Edge Athlete Development is a team of accomplished professionals with deep experience in leadership development and organizational effectiveness in a broad range of settings. With backgrounds in the armed forces, public safety and large global corporations, we know leadership in all of its dimensions because we’ve lived it. And we’re passionate about teaching what we know to America’s future leaders: today's college athletes.
mission: Leadership
Our flagship offering, Mission: Leadership is designed to close your team’s leadership gaps, identify and develop leadership potential, and improve each athlete’s ability to lead herself and her teammates. Set against the backdrop of a picturesque and challenging physical terrain, the event includes a series of physical and mental tests that will require your athletes to learn basic planning, communication, listening and feedback skills required to develop their leadership capabilities - and drive your team’s performance.
the leadership reaction course
Designed by veteran military officers, the foundation of Mission: Leadership is the Leadership Reaction Course (LRC). It consists of mentally stimulating team-based challenges that improve the athlete’s leadership competencies and help build stronger teams. The events are a purposeful integration of leadership models, theories, best practices, and kinesthetic learning. They develop each athlete’s ability to think critically, influence, communicate, and assess while creating competitive advantage through greater trust, innovation, collaboration, and adaptability.
Prior to Mission: Leadership, athletes and coaches will complete the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI). The MBTI assessment plays a key role in the Mission: Leadership, helping your athletes develop the self-awareness needed to lead themselves and their teammates and accelerating the integration of new team members. Before the Mission: Leadership event, we’ll review the results of the assessment during an in-person group session, facilitated by a certified MBTI practitioner.
